Glossybox or No Glossybox?
I've been subscribed to Glossybox for quite a few months now but I feel like it's just not doing it for me anymore. I decided to see what was in my July box and judge from there. Although this month is better than they have been, I'm not swayed to stay, especially after what I've seen of the Birchbox this month!

I thought I'd do a review and share my thoughts on the products in case anyone's thinking about subscribing. This month is the Stars and Stripes special and features 4 full size products. The combined value of the products is just under £50, impressive consider you pay £12.95 a month including delivery.
There was one thing that got me very excited as soon as I saw it, the Tarte Lights Camera Lashes mascara. I've seen loads of YouTubers and Beauty Bloggers rave about this. It's not a cheap mascara, at £19.50 for 7ml compared to the normal 10ml in a mascara. I was not disappointed by this, it made my eyelashes look absolutely amazing.
Probably the best mascara packaging I have come across |
I received a Bella Pierre eyeshadow in a previous box and I absolutely love it so was quite pleased when I saw a full-size lipstick. It's a gorgeous orangey-red tone and has a really smooth formula. I'm not a massive fan of orange toned reds as they can make your teeth look really yellow. I was fairly shocked at the price tag though... £20. For some, £20 for a lipstick may not be a problem but I'm a person who will spend no more than £10 on a lipstick.
Everyone's heard of Carmex. As a lip balm addict, I can never have too many and I tend to lose them pretty often. To me, this is just the same as any other lip balm but for £2.69 you can't really go wrong.
I've wanted an eyelid primer for quite a long time now as I'm a greasy eyelid sufferer.. yum. This one's by Absolute New York who I haven't heard before but it's fairly cheap at $4.99.
The final thing in the box was a Colour Club nail varnish in Glossy Seal. It's a slightly greeny navy colour but I have to say I have quite a few nail varnishes in this colour so I'm not blown away. I also think it's more of an autumn/winter colour than a summer one.
I'm definitely unsubscribing and getting on the Birchbox hype in the hope that will make me happier!
